Thanks for checking us out! We know that just walking through the door is sometimes the hardest step, but if you give it a try you won’t regret it. You are welcome no matter where you find yourself in life or in your walk with God.
The main purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to help us get closer to God. Unfortunately, a lot us have old hurtful stuff in the way of a closer relationship with our Creator. Seacoast Grace Church's Celebrate Recovery group is a biblically balanced ministry that helps us overcome our hurts, habits and hang-ups by learning the 8 principles of recovery found in logical order in Jesus' most famous message, The Sermon on the Mount.
Seventeen years ago, Saddleback Church launched Celebrate Recovery with 43 people. The program was designed to anyone struggling with hurts, habits, and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ. Celebrate Recovery has helped more than 8,500 people at Saddleback, and more than 70 percent of its members are from outside the church. Our SeaCoast Grace chapter was established about 4 years ago and we have grown from 4 people to over 60 attending on a weekly basis.
At Celebrate Recovery, we fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives through a biblically based
“12 Step" program and the corresponding
“8 Recovery Principles". Many of us struggle daily with addictions, hurts, habits, hang-ups and just plain “stuff.” Those who embrace the program learn that this experience allows us to "be changed"– we are freed from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors with newfound serenity and joy. And, most importantly, we discover a stronger personal relationship with our loving and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ.
We meet every Friday on the campus of SeaCoast Grace Church in the Warehouse East. Our Friday night meetings are divided into 3 parts: large group, small groups, and Solid Rock Café.
At 7 PM large group starts. During this first hour, you’ll hear live worship music and either a lesson on one of the Principles or Steps, or someone will give their testimony, which is simply sharing their story of how God has touched and changed their life.
At 8 PM we break into “small groups,” which are gender specific and focus on specific issues. This is an open share time, although you are not obligated to speak if you feel uncomfortable. Group locations and leaders will be indicated during closing announcements. We currently offer the following small groups:
Women’s Issues
Women’s Food Issues – NEW!
Women’s Chemical & Alcohol Addiction
Men’s Issues
Men’s Chemical & Alcohol Addiction
Parental Issues Groups for Men & Women – NEW!
New groups are added depending on the need and the availability of leaders.
At 9 PM after small groups are done, everyone is invited back to the main meeting room to enjoy dessert, coffee and fellowship at “Solid Rock Café.” It’s a great time to develop relationships, get an accountability partner or sponsor, and enjoy some yummy desserts.
We also offer a brief Newcomers 101 orientation in between large and small groups for our “first timers,” and gender specific step studies. (See below.)
Celebrate Recovery is not meant to replace secular recovery, and we encourage you to work other programs to aid in your recovery. There are guidelines in place and enforced to ensure that Celebrate Recovery remains a
safe and
confidential place and a nurturing environment, and we ask that you take these guidelines seriously and follow them out of respect for others.
Welcome, and may God bless your amazing spiritual journey as He does for those of us who took the first step and surrendered.
Step Studies:
No matter what you struggle with, working a 12 step program is a crucial part of your healing process. Whether it’s codependency, food issues, anger, grief, relationship addiction, dysfunctional behaviors, chemical/alcohol dependency – this is the heart and soul of the program and where true healing begins. Our 12-Step Studies are biblically based, gender specific, and are open to anyone. They are held on Tuesday nights in the Education Bldg. of SeaCoast Grace’s main campus and free childcare is provided.
